Mikkira Station

Please Note we will be closed to the public from 1st Nov to 1st March due to high fire risk. Mikkira Station is a tranquil secluded picnic or camping area set amongst Manna Gums where koalas and other wildlife live freely. Abundant and varied bird life can be observed. This historic area features a circa 1842 restored homestead, old stone walls and ruins of shepherds huts. Trail motorbike riding, firearms and dogs are not permitted on the property. Camping and day visitors in private vehicles are welcome from March to December on days of low fire risk - (below 30 Celcius). There are toilets and a hot shower for campers. Tours of Mikkira are available as part of the itinerary of several tour companies - please enquire at the Visitor Information Centre. Permits are available from Port Lincoln at the Mortlock Mobil Service Station on Mortlock Terrace and the Port Lincoln Visitor Information Centre, Adelaide Place. (Opposite the Post Office)
